Red Berries on Holly Trees

Red Berries on Holly Trees

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Winter Birds rest on branches of my heart...

"
Once upon a Midnight clear... I saw the light...

A Star shone down through the Sky...  gathered

in clusters of singing Carols where long ago

there was a field where Shepherds watched

their Sheep and Wise Men traveled from

afar to bring Frankincense and Myrrh to place

beneath a Manger where a new born King lay

in the light of a Star... We sing Hallelujah and

Silent Night as Mothers and Fathers remember

the Holy Night... where Mother Mary gave birth

to the new born King... we light our Candles and Pray...

Dear Pat. I am honoured to be your first caller. You remind us of the true meaning of Christmas by sharing a wonderful nativity scene. It is a time of year more than any to show goodwill towards our fellow earth travelers. Not forgetting our avian friends who give us so much joy and inspire wonderful metaphors for our poetry. There is a great deal of love in this poem. Such an uplifting read Pat. Thank you dearly.

Oh what a precious photo you share with us dear Pat! Thank you for it and for this glorious, graceful faith-filled and poem of Christmas. Here in Florida I miss the little Winter birds so much, but you have brought them to me! We need this inspiration, especially now. Amen to your beautiful words my friend.

Happy, festive and decorative. You bring this Holiday alive in fanciful and honored ways. You make the reader enjoy , oh, boy. May your holiday be of good cheer, safe and one that heralds brighter future. Be blessed.

May it be so. You are welcome Pat.
This covers everything I love about the holidays! And your enthusiasm is off-the-charts thru-out, which I love. The nice thing about my old feeble mind is that I can't think of sixteen things at once anymore, so it's easy for me to stay focused on what a sacred meaningful time of year this is, without having the angst of current events creep in to spoil my enjoyment of it. That's what your poem feels like -- total joy immersion -- as if all that other crap didn't even exist. We need to learn to focus more on what matters & what excites, since the woes will always be there. This poem is a joy-fest! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Geez, where did the real Christmas go?
Well, you brought it back for us here..." A Midnight clear" of commercialism, dollars trimming trees,
Halos of diamonds..." Credit cards under the star, and folks going bankrupt out spending each other.

You brought us back to the manger, shepherds...what it really is all about.
