Black-billed Magpie

Black-billed Magpie

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

High in the Sky... Blue Jays fulfill their passion...

"
The Bold and Brainy Blue Jays  are very Brilliant as

they fly high with White Breasts that look like

flying clouds with Wings...

Blue Jays love Berries and Sunflower seeds. as well as,

Peanuts in a Shell...

They dance with Cardinals and Mourning Doves.

The Blue Jays are very special birds. Flying clouds with wings, they animate the blue skies and fill them with passion. My blues would melt away if I beheld their beautiful dance with the Cardinals and the Mourning Doves. Thank you for sharing the enchanting beauty of the skies.

I seem to live with at least one eye on the sky .. and without a care, there is almost always something beautiful to be found up there .. softly & true .. Neville

This poem is a fun and playful celebration of the Blue Jay, highlighting the bird's beauty, intelligence, and social nature. The lines "The Bold and Brainy Blue Jays / are very Brilliant as / they fly high with White Breasts that look like / flying clouds with Wings" paint a vivid picture of the Blue Jay's physical appearance, emphasizing its striking blue and white coloration and its graceful flight.

The poem also touches on the Blue Jay's dietary preferences, including its love of berries, sunflower seeds, and peanuts in a shell. The line "Blue Jays love Berries and Sunflower seeds. as well as, / Peanuts in a Shell" highlights the bird's omnivorous nature and its ability to adapt to a wide range of food sources.

Finally, the poem celebrates the Blue Jay's social nature and its ability to form relationships with other birds. The line "They dance with Cardinals and Mourning Doves" creates a sense of community and camaraderie among the birds, highlighting the ways in which they interact and communicate with one another.

Overall, this is a fun and lighthearted poem that celebrates the beauty, intelligence, and social nature of the Blue Jay.

As I said in a recent review, the best thing about Blue Jays is they don't say "Nevermore."

They make their presence well known, too. The first time I heard one, it sounded like a crow, then he swiftly dived down for a peanut, and took off. I managed to get a photo of him. The blue and white contrast is so beautiful! Why is he referred to as a magpie?

The "Bird Expert" is showing me in beautiful words how these birds interact... and what they love to eat, and how they dance with each other, not to mention the stunning sounds they call out and their colorful soft coats of fine feather....
I'm learning a lot from you my dear Pat,

Just another day in Paradise? Nice! I like how the poem doesn't give too many details, but just enough for the reader to create a colorful landscape of his/her own prompted by the brief description provided.
