Barned Owls of the Rocky Mountains

Barned Owls of the Rocky Mountains

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Fountains of Blessings appear in November...

"
When the Wind ruffles my Feathers...
I settle on a Branch of an aging Sycamore...
I dream of ripe berries and my Friend  Chickadee...
remembering the long nights spent when
the Moon became a Light that brought
Eternity into our Life of orchestrated
Autumn Rhapsodies...

This brought happy memories to me of during lockdown, a family of snow owls moved into our nearby woods and they were such a majestic sight if you were lucky enough to catch them in flight, which was always unlucky for their prey.
Sadly the entire family were found dead at the base of a tree, all victim to Avian flu. They are still missed here.
Hope you and yours are well too.

A very beautifully penned poem, dear Patricia. I love the thoughts the Owl has as he sits on a very old and wise Sycamore Tree. I also love your excellent choice of graphic and I love your amazing poem also. I love Owls and have since I was a very small child. When I eventually saw them at a Wild Life Sanctuary, I fell in love with them. I am so happy to say that I have a very beautiful Owl as one of my Animal Spirit Guides. Sending very best wishes, with Light and Love and Hugs, dear Pat...

Your words are a beautifully poetic reflection of nature's cycles...ruffling feathers and dreaming of ripe berries...There is beauty found in moments of quiet reflection. Lovely and heartfelt Pat :) Julie

This is a painting in words, Pat, I read it first, losed my eyelids and saw what you've seen and are now sharing. Then I sat back, calmly, happily for the first time in a few hours or more. Your eyes and mind miss very little in the 'all around' and you share that via your poetry. Many thanks my darling friend. My love as ever to you both. Keep warm and happy over the coming weekend, please. Hugs..

Dear Pat, your beautiful poem reminded me of lockdown also. I remember seeing a film of a barn owl in flight. It was in slow motion and was magnificent. Your lines are visually stunning.

Excellent poem, Patricia. I like the capitalization, the rhythm that plays out, and the rhyming "EE: sound. I've never seen an owl, but I may have heard them in the woods near me years ago. :)
