Sadness
hello again
no, it's ok you didn't knock
you're an old friend
just walk right in

There's some chowder on the stove
would you like a bowl?
me either, not much of an appetite myself
i hate to sound rude but
how long are you staying?

See there's thing's i need to do
and you're, well you're in the way
could you please leave
come back another day?

My heart is broken
my eyes are red
today as tomorrow
i won't get out of this bed

Sadness
please don't take this the wrong way
i know i bid you
will you please leave
please go
pack your things

Yes, i promise i will stop crying if you go
one thing
should i call please ignore the ring
i am no one of consequence
so please, be on your way

This was such a heartbreaking yet truthful piece. You conveyed the desperation and loneliness really well, in particular through the way in which your character reacted to the sadness. The second stanza was my favourite in the whole poem! I don't know what it is that I liked about it, but I guess in a way it highlighted the fact that this person was so familiar with sadness, as if it was nothing new, and was to be expected.
Very nicely written. Well done,

It's very good, i like the personification of sadness it's a depressing poem but in that same sense it is good

I dig! I like your portrayal of loneliness and depression through the characters, top notch! I know how it is too, I beat depression without any help, and it's one hell of a struggle, so I can definitely relate to your poem. Overall, killer work, and please, keep it up! I'd love to read more whenever it is you post them!

I love your conversation with Sadness, so easily read and full of emotion. Wonderful rhythm for reading out loud. I find myself hoping Sadness heard your voice and is ready to leave.
Thank you for sharing

Wow. I like this a lot. Very smooth, and I like the way you made sadness an entity.

Awe Chloe this is so heartbreaking... they say misery loves company and sometimes all we have is our feelings to keep us company.... a lot of emotion went into this piece that I know many can relate to including me.

I know how it feels, especially when you have things to do...

Is the saddness 'infinite?'....

Chloe, I hope this does not linger....

Blessings.........

Such a brilliant, sadly moving conversation... Your elloquence and profound depth made this an amazing read. I'm glad the writing helped the sadness go away... even for a time.
