Close Your Eyes-Dream

Close Your Eyes-Dream

A Poem by Chloe..Across the Universe
"

<3

"
In this world where life is
perilous each day a gamble
from children shooting children
while learning the golden rule..

I often wonder-
could it be that we
have become apathetic
turned a blind eye
we need to open our eyes
see-

I like to think of a world
filled with love-
love of people, animals, places..plants-
moons, stars, planets.. ours
first Mistress Earth

Can you close your eyes
see a world of love without
endless misery

War- extinct like the dinosaurs
hunger a thing long gone
religion all of ones choosing

Can you see?
a world where our children
live free in peace
no hunger or pain

Can you see?
war machines stripped and sold
for scrap metal
to make music for the soul

Money is of no worry
everybody shares..
no one is too heavy to
carry
no burden to bear

Can you see?
a dream, perhaps
to dream the impossible dream
it is possible-if we all dream the same
dream together-

Please, won't you close your eyes-
dream with me-

Wow, Imagine is what I thought of when I read this.
I thought, "She's the next John Lennon. Well, maybe a female-version."
If your dreamworld became our reality, I would never again shed a tear.
Heck, I don't think there'd be any reason whatsoever to shed tears, unless they were tears of the purest joy.

I truly love this poem. If it were a person, it'd be my best friend.
Excellent work(:

This is beautiful. I love this poem. Normally, this is such a cliche topic, but you handle it gracefully. Fantastic job. :D

The poem was very nice. (I love John Lennon - one of my favs, as a matter of fact).

A wise man once said, "Wake up and dream." If we close our eyes and dream, there can be no change. To effect change, one must see reality and know there is a reason for change. We can't change others, only ourselves. But if we want to make a change in the world, the change begins inside of each of us. Keep up the good work!

Too many closed eyes. Not enough just living for today. John missed the Blitz. I didn't. Still don't. The closer this net gets us the more hope for sanity.

Great to read you again. You put your finger on IT perfectly. And I think IT is the difference between men and women, because men love excitement and violence. We are made for it. Women love peace and calm. I've thought about this a lot and I can't see a solution. Life in a state of perfect love and calm wld be dull. As a man -- I speak for about 3 billion -- I crave excitement in any form. If there is no excitement I opt for death. How do we solve that problem? Is is a problem? Life is drama and drama demands winners and losers. If we destroy ourselves in Act V will the universe care?

Imagine one of my all time favorites, and there are many; as I love music. I Love the interpretation that you share! This is exactly what I needed to read this AM! Your words give inspiration to continue dreaming the dreams we feel at times are impossible, however in our heart knowing nothing is impossible. Through your beautifully expressed prose I feel hope that there are those that still believe in making dreams come true. You have such a bright beautiful spirit, your motivation and encouragement touches many, and for that I thank you my Friend! Blessed be ~ Jude xo

Wonderfully done too!
Classic song!
You know, if we could all dream and share that consciousness of hope, there would be a change that was more than welcome! lol

Great work hon!

As I read this, the song that you mentioned in your note came immediately to mind. Of course, I am a broken record of an old man and so I must make this one nitpick. I wish that you had punctuated this poem because it was a smidge difficult to read. Since you wrote the poem, you hear it perfectly in your mind's ear because you know exactly how it's supposed to sound. I struggled to read the poem because I did not know where the stops and pauses were supposed to be. A common misconception is that the end of a line indicates a pause in a poem. This is not the case and so, we the readers REALLY need punctuation to know how you want us to read your poem. Think of it as a road map.

Beyond that ... I love the idea, I love the execution and I love the poem.

"war machines stripped and sold
for scrap metal
to make music for the soul"
Were my favorite lines.
This was.. gorgeous. Full and honest, your words touched my heart and almost brought tears to my eyes, their so full of hope and with this poem I am sure many will find refuge in a world like ours.
Wonderful write!
Keep writing!
