Close Your Eyes-Dream

Close Your Eyes-Dream

A Poem by Chloe..Across the Universe
"

<3

"
In this world where life is
perilous each day a gamble
from children shooting children
while learning the golden rule..

I often wonder-
could it be that we
have become apathetic
turned a blind eye
we need to open our eyes
see-

I like to think of a world
filled with love-
love of people, animals, places..plants-
moons, stars, planets.. ours
first Mistress Earth

Can you close your eyes
see a world of love without
endless misery

War- extinct like the dinosaurs
hunger a thing long gone
religion all of ones choosing

Can you see?
a world where our children
live free in peace
no hunger or pain

Can you see?
war machines stripped and sold
for scrap metal
to make music for the soul

Money is of no worry
everybody shares..
no one is too heavy to
carry
no burden to bear

Can you see?
a dream, perhaps
to dream the impossible dream
it is possible-if we all dream the same
dream together-

Please, won't you close your eyes-
dream with me-

Wow, Imagine is what I thought of when I read this.
I thought, "She's the next John Lennon. Well, maybe a female-version."
If your dreamworld became our reality, I would never again shed a tear.
Heck, I don't think there'd be any reason whatsoever to shed tears, unless they were tears of the purest joy.

I truly love this poem. If it were a person, it'd be my best friend.
Excellent work(:

I am dreaming with you, although my version differs somewhat, so many parts of your vision are like mine. Your poem is well written and dreamy, I like reading it so much but I can't remember how the song "Imagine" goes. Great poem!

I can clearly see the connection with "Imagine" (a song, incidentally which i dislike) ... However, the sentiments of the song are pretty, serene, and well-intended... much like your piece of work here... In fact, I prefer this to "Imagine"... I like John Lennon but not all...
The poem is nicely put together and is written well, with -in the second half- a nicely arranged turn of phrase...
I cannot though abide with its point of view entirely... life cannot be all white.. it goes against the whole of existence .. which is made up of opposites; many good, many bad... and where would poetry be if all we had to write about was how good everything was...? And even bad things have beauty...
But I'm not knocking the piece of work I'm reviewing here... the question of peace and love is vexed and extremely two-sided, just as life is.. but unfortunately I am the wrong person to preach these values to.

what strikes my wonder, when reading you, the form is sculpted and
that alone speaks volumes. regarding the meaning, and i think ,why can't the world be this way. the blissful, peaceful way of living
and you've brilliantly identified the reason, its corporate greed.
this poem brings to mind the oil slick out there in gulf, and I love the gulf
of mexico, fishing and the beach. I loved reading this creative poem.
its such a quality know how. thanks for sharing it.

As I read this I was thinking this sounded very Lennon-esque. A wonderful vision you wind us through with your carefully chosen words of peaceful freedom and love. Well done, Ms. Chloe!

Love it! Very zen-like outlook on the way you'd like the world to be, and I can definitely feel the way you want it all to be. Keep it up!

well, for me you have just described MY dream, and as a buddhist I love you for voicing this 'dream'. Great words, great flow and even better ideal...I totally agree with you and I for one think it is possible if each and every one of us does our bit in our individual communities....big respect, peace and love to you my friend,...:)
