Temet Nosce

Temet Nosce

A Poem by Paul Velora

While she slept in the depths
We all slept amongst the stars
Comets were coming,
We were waiting for ours.

Distantly we saw the curve
Of the lighted, smoking, trail
Quietly, she kept sleeping
Under the cold lit veil.

Awake, the sea it cried to her
Can you not see the air above?
The comets they're coming,
And yet you sleep my love.

Standing upon their starlit vein
They kept the time and purled
Barely contained, their joy,
Below hardly moved, the girl.

Those comets came, leaping
And we were knocked from our perch
Through the air and into the sky
We came to rest next to her.

Ah, romanticism, and yet also very classic. Nice combination.
We miss quite a bit not looking up into the night sky anymore. There's a lot to be said up there...

I like.
There is so many ways to interpret this poem, it 's really daunting to the reasons I've come up with. Thank you for making me think, but that was probably my over active imagination.
