A Poem by Pax Analog
"

Lyric to multitrack whole song in the playlist player on profile pg.; theme is Spirit 'midst the networking brouhaha.

"

Several billion conversations,
sex and money through the wires
Howls of love and indignation
on this slo-mo funeral pyre

Here, touching when we can
only Heart can stand
as the Promised Land
Here

Hear the random noisy city,
lick your honey in the hive
Marvel in the flesh, cool kitty,
what it is to be Alive

Here. . .

War of words between we phantoms,
me-me-meing la-la-la
Fritter folly is for bantams,
ain’t no path to Shangri-La

Here. . .

Buzz of heightened recognition
of your face before you’re born
The Condition of conditions
of mortality is shorn

Here. . .

Poetry is music and music is poetry! Both can stir up so much emotion in people! I first enjoyed reading it then listening to it. You are very talented!

Thanks

very strong opening .. the word 'howls' immediately takes me to shades of ginsberg ..and tho' this isn't beat, it does have the intensity. to me, it speaks of isolation, not just physical but spiritual also. kind of 'everyman is an island' . it seems to say the only satisfaction comes from pleasing one's self.. 'me, me meing' even sexually speaking.. just so much mutual masturbation (mental and physical) using a partner as a means to an end...

the rhythm and flow is good, great as lyrics. My only nit-pick is line one , verse four..it seems a little awkward "we phantoms" , that is. maybe an adjective instead of we.. cold, pale, lost..i don't know. anyway it's not enough to throw it off as it is.

i read first, then listened..great pairing of words and music, pax. i enjoyed it.

seriously. that first stanza... wow. i'm going to sound very unintellectual here but... HOLY CRAP.
"Several billion conversations,

This wealth of imagery that flows so easily from one to the other in a gentle and easy-to-read rhyming format--- it just blew my mind. I'm always drawn to poems that express a sort of "observational cynicism" of the world around us and how it's become so caught up in being plastic and fake. This was just what I needed to feel inspired and motivated to start writing today- so thank you!

You can't help but feel disgusted thinking about this poem. Not that the poem is disgusting, no. It conjures up all the negative feelings any sensible person is bound to have toward the artificial, nature-less world we've built up around ourselves. Sometimes I feel like everyone has lost touch with everyone else, and they're constantly me-me-meing.

Well spoken though. The voice you use is more aimed at the sinners and not the choir, if you get me. It's easy to withdraw and speak, in a sense, to the reader who theoretically would support your point of view. But this is bolder; it talks to the wannabe rockstars, the divas, the misanthropes and fools. What good will it do? No matter. At least you're saying it.

I love you spirit Pax! I listened to the song first then I can to get complete clarification. I love your style and it reflects in most of your stuff. Very fun, very melodic yet still holds on to it's intelligence! I hope I grow up to be just like you!......

I really like it. Both the content of the lyrics, the message and the delivery in music.
Great. Poignant stuff, nice rhythm.
