Almost Gone

A poem who those who find themselves listening, perhaps less than willingly, to an older relative who seems stuck in the past. It's purposely a short message.

Forgive me as I reminisce about the years gone by

Too many days have wandered through and fleed without goodbye

My steps have grown more faltering

My thoughts retrace the past

Forgive the child who's left inside still longing for what's passed
