Dig

Dig

A Poem by Peggy Olson

Number...

After this, I'm just another doomed player
I could stay up talking to you at a seance
Too many lights the cameras flashing at a payoff
I can almost hear you tell me "take the way out"
...
Saturday when you said you wanna die
I told you're my love we should spend our lives...
forbidden love bit...
Stressed out kids
Romeo and what's her name...
Except I'm still awake

Cause all we ever wanted was a cute vacation.
A road trip, pack your toothbrush and get into the spaceship
Ignore all the sirens and the hurricanes,
mama and your dad went insane
searching
....

Now every night you whisper to me through a seance
You tell me stories about what's inside a big box
Had to stop me from trying to dig the grave up
I'll dig the grave up

I love this. As to 'tossing around nonsense' the verse I've just read is far from nonsense.
