Journey of Life

Journey of Life

A Poem by Yesterday Today

We all must travel IT,
IT can be lived reluctantly or with joy,
IT can be lived blindly or with purpose,

God created IT,
New Agers think we can recreate IT,
Freud and Jung think we dream our way through IT,
Deep thinkers wonder if IT’s all God’s dream,
And suicidals just want IT all to end.

Babies enter IT expectantly and as children live IT innocently,
But molested, socially neglected & weary souls view IT
As a cinder block upon their shoulders,
And when called Home shall withdraw from IT willingly.

Religious folk await the reward at the end of IT,
Lazy people demand their reward now,
Happy-go-luckies go with the flow
But criminals flow against IT,
And their victims learn not to take IT for granted.

Some countries find IT ritualized,
Others add a bit of spice to IT--or require a bit less,
And complainers, cynics & critics need to get one.

And last but not least,
Some people simply enjoy doing IT!

very straight forward poem I love how it's not filled with filler words or over flower details. A very down to earth view of something that I wish I could wrap my head around. Good job!
