Phantomhead

This is a villanelle I wrote back in 11th grade for English, and I really liked what I came up with.

Painting cursed gazes filled with dread
Clouding my thoughts with a sorrow filled roar
I am watched by the eyes of the Phantom Head

Nausea engulfed me as they were coated with red
My shame is found, pride nevermore
Painting cursed gazes filled with dread

This blasted heart, it beats me with lead
Another pearl, at my soul it tore
I am watched by the eyes of the Phantom Head

The law I uphold, to justice I am wed
She enslaves me to her axe, more and more
Painting cursed gazes filled with dread

I beseech thee! Fade away, far from my stead
Your hellish torment, my mind it does gore
I am watched by the eyes of the Phantom Head

I pray thine forgiveness, to heaven I send
Yet still my hell cannot cease, it lives in my core
