Haunted melody

Haunted melody

A Poem by Ashes
"

Just another night with major label music.

"

It was a private affair

where masks were worn over the average façade

and the best entertainment wasn’t host provided

but what trinket you could conquer

before nights fateful end.

Malleable minds

of the not-so-innocently innocent

under the shinning lights of the over-glorified dance floor

of moving bodies and sins

encased in delicately woven golden wares

soon to be ripped under expensive golden stiletto heels

of the easily

yet only slightly amused

The clicking

humming, drumming beats

of major label music ending

descending with the atmosphere

and the night as the sun rises over might be desecrated lands

and a glowing palace

now left in ruins with time and ancient civilizations

lost and forgotten.

A last twirl

a kiss

a lover whispering goodnight.

The one last haunting melody

of the summer new years day

Author's Note

Ashes
Made for the poetry exercise group, exercise 3...I think that's the number. I used private, facade, trinket, malleable, and conquer.

Definitely an affair to remember! You used the words very carefully! Very nice tempo!
