Ashtray

Ashtray

A Poem by Phillip J Clayton

.....as hell retreats we push forward…

dead days left to waste, heaven turned it's face from my tongue...

Our decisions make us who we want to be, but we still make the wrong ones...

I will stay and guide the blind , until our kingdoms soon become one.

I only came here seeking peace, I only came here seeking me...

Listen to the eulogy inside the grave……dance with the devil in the dark of day...

Can I give you my pain so you can feel like I do…..

I'm ready and willing - can't stop the bleeding

Left out and dying - can't stop the feeling

the highest form of flattery is imitation….

If it's meant to be, then set it free, if it's meant to be then set it free,

if it's meant to be then set it free….it will come back…..

Dark days, dark days, dark days…….Dark days, dark days, dark days….DARK DAYS!

Dark days, dark days, dark days…….DARK DAYS!…

if it's meant to be set it free….if it's meant to be set it free….if it's meant to be set it free….

You're not going to win this time, take what you want just leave me alive...
