"Puppy Love"

"Puppy Love"

A Poem by PoeT4994
"

Ugh.

"
Some called it puppy love.
Some said we were fools.
But I wasn’t complaining.
We danced like clouds might have if they had enough gravity to fall to a dance floor.
We tumbled in the stars.
And planted skylines like backdrops in her bedroom.
We kissed like gorillas.
Everything seemed fresh and exciting like it did when we were all babies.
And we were, all babies once, so you know what I’m talking about.
We hugged like the moon and the sky.
Birds chirped our beauty like no ones business in the tree above us.
She kissed my neck like ink on emparchment paper.
I massaged her thighs like there was a message in my hands that I just wanted her to feel.
I threw her on the bed, grabbed her wrists, and made her scream “Everything.”
We just laughed.
I collapsed on top of her like a thousand pounds of feel good.
We just layed there.
Fully clothed, holding each other.
Because we knew we didn’t need to do anything sexual to have a smile on our faces.
I watched her tear a little.
And she said “You know we’ll fade like old pictures one day.”
I retorted simply “Yea, I know.  But no matter what, you can always make the picture out good enough to remember the moment.”
She just smiled.
I pressed my mind against hers for a moment.
Let her know what I was thinking about.
She just whispered.
I don’t know what she said.
I didn’t care to ask her.
I knew it would just ruin the moment.
We took a deep breath and set our hearts aside to have a staring contest.
We fell into the cave in my chest.
And spun it like a rabbit hole.
When we stopped, we stumbled, trying to blurt out “I love you.”  like drunks with a lot of intelligent stuff to say.
Like bees with mouth fulls of honey and liquor.
We crawled out.
Looked into the eyes we don’t need.
Saw how much we meant to each other.
Knew it would hurt less if we just split on a good note.
Kissed on last time.
And crumbled beneath each others arms.
