"The years swirled on and older now, between" revisedA Poem by Ngoc M. NguyenA life unlived and devoid of romantic love causes regrets, but in the end hope and promise remain. The years swirled on and older now, between my birth and the dead, burnt embers of age, I ached and longed for a god-like machine to create strength and a restored image. A wasted youth gone in too brief an hour (regrets, regrets...so much melancholy!): that I neither lived nor loved with power so anguished me...damn, damn my own folly! All that remained was faith in my setting sun that by turns shall rise and give me rebirth: my spring-time lost and my life's youth undone by Providence will know a reborn mirth! So, belovéd, extend me not your pity: for my hope rests in God's eternity.
