The Gift

The Gift

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

All a part of each other,

We give ourselves to another.

What we share

Gives love and care.

One may have the gift of listening…

Simply being there and witnessing

The hurt in someone’s heart;

In the healing to be a vital part.

Some have the gift of song…

To move others along

In praising the King

With what they sing.

One may have the gift of healing…

Asking God’s pardon for someone else while kneeling.

Seeking the Healer’s touch,

“For the prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

Some have the gift of leadership…

Leading God’s people to Him.

A shepherd to sheep,

So God’s Word they keep.

Many other gifts does He give to His children

As grace He sends.

While the greatest gift ever

Was the gift of Jesus, His Son forever.

Spiritual and loving thoughts~
Truly listening to another person is wonderful and a sign of a beautiful soul.
Not many people do so, and it is should be so and valued.

Melinda; It is no doubt one of the most beautiful poems I've read in awhile. It gave such a gorgeous message and encouraged me to believe and keep faith, while holding back tears at times, with worry and grief. You give readers inspirations and hope, something we all need. I truly hope more people will read. It doesn't matter the religion, it can inspire anyone, that believes in a higher power. The flow is impeccable, the words are perfected. The theme of hope resonates like bells, in the heavens. You are a talented writer. I wish to find The Gift, in moments are hardship and re-read, so I will put it in my library for that purpose. Every stanza is perfect...every single line well thought out. Dale
