The Lord is His Name

The Lord is His Name

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

The Lord is His Name

He helps me in my distress,

He heals my heart deepest.

The Lord is His Name,

I long to spread His fame.

Who holds the stars in place

In such an expanse space?

Who commands the sea

To stay its boundary?

In my troubles, His grace enfolds me,

As to my soul, He bestows peace.

Who rids me of shame?

The Lord is His Name.

My hope belongs to the One

Whose will shall be done--

In my life
Until to Him I rise.

Who conquers kingdoms

And brings down the evil one?

The One who hears every word

And who has given His Word as a sword.

My troubles fall at His feet

As His Name I speak.

In my heart He remains--

The Lord is His Name.

You must be super religious and frugal with all things religion. This is a poem that just bleed those details. I don't come across many people who take religion highly. But this is one poem that i can not unsee. A swell poem. None better.
