The Heart's Flight

The Heart's Flight

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

The Heart’s Flight

As if floating upon a current

Which cannot be seen,

It flies high,

Filled with hopes and dreams.

A longing it has,

To love and to be loved with all might.

Ever dreaming of success…

The heart’s flight.

So intense, so alive

Is the desire to seek.

So, it flies with abandon,

Until its destination is reached.

Finding itself wondering

What kept it afloat by and by…

It faithfully took the path given,

The heart’s flight.

For it soared undeterred

Through storms and rain,

Feeling light and sweetly touched,

A revelation did it gain.

Suddenly, knowing in its depths,

That it was being held tight

By its Creator, the Orchestrater of

The heart’s flight.

So much literary works exists discussing the heart
Its ability to rise above
be elated above circumstance

Love your words here
