Swish, Splashing into the Deep

 

Into the deep

she swam the distance.

Her heart implored

just one chance.

 

Holding her breath, swish, splash,

she had taken the plunge.

She was where she always dreamt,

as by faith, she had lunged.

 

Diving head-first into her own sea,

not knowing how it would all turn out.

But that was her faith’s job,

sending her to her heart’s whereabouts.

 

Now, she’s still swimming,

treading the sustaining water.

Hope keeps her afloat, swish, splash,

knowing God’s mercy does not falter.

 

Surrounded by peace

that only comes from Him,

She delves deeper still,

far from the surface's external rim.

 

She dares to open her eyes

to follow her savior’s lead.

Broadening her strokes,

swish, splashing into the deep.
