Her Dreams Had WingsA Poem by Melinda McQueenHer Dreams Had Wings
The day was grey with low clouds in her vision. Her heart was heavy, filled with indecision.
Her dreams wrapped around her like a blanket heavy. She had a choice to make. What would it be?
She didn’t want to lose sight of all they’d been through. Yet, it hurt to hold his memory… the places they’d been, the things they’d do.
Should she move on with her life? Move on with the dreams she still sees? How could she go on without him to believe?
A breeze blew her hair as a sigh filled her lungs. For she knew that he would always be a part of her, just as when their love first begun.
She realized she didn’t have to choose, For he resided in her heart Just as the dreams she still wanted. In her dreams, he’d be a part.
For he had been the one who’d given her the will to believe. Because of him, her dreams had wings.
