Freedom From Fear

Freedom From Fear

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Freedom From Fear

What have we to fear?

The Lord holds us in His hand.

Yes, He upholds us in times of trouble,

Protecting always because His truth stands.

Safe in the Almighty,

Who gathers all our tears.

His work on the cross

Has given us freedom from fear.

There is no fear in love,

But perfect love casts out fear.

This is who we have in Christ,

His love is ever near.

None can touch His redeemed,

For the Blood of Christ covers even here.

And where He is,

There is freedom from fear.

Whom shall we fear?

The Lord of heaven and earth is at our side.

Ever in the hearts of His called,

As for us, He fights.

So, let us run the race,

Drawing closer to Him year after year.

Thanks to Jesus, we come boldly to the throne of grace

Where there’s freedom from fear.
