Fall on Me

Fall on Me

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Fall on Me

Leaves of color

Scatter the ground,

Brisk breezes

Carry them around.

The sky blue

Dotted with clouds fluffy,

Shaped like animals.

Fall on me.

Mild days

Give way to cool nights.

Long sleeves

Feels just right.

Still cooler mornings

Makes an easy sleep.

The sun warms at noon.

Fall on me.

Pleasant winds

Dance my hair,

Buffering the sun’s heat

In the affair.

The feels, the chills,

The ease, the glee…

Is the sensation of

Fall on me.
