On That Promised Night

On That Promised Night

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

On That Promised Night

The star shone bright
on that promised night.

All heaven did bow,
the angels all surround.

The earth stood in quiet awe,
no sound at all.

Reverently did the earth sigh,
as the Savior was nigh.

Heaven gave up its cherished
so love could be accomplished.

And the Baby Jesus arrived
on that promised night.

The answer born to us
in a tiny body marvelous.

Did His first cry
make the angels weep from on high.

God could now be touched
though it cost Him much.

Flesh had He,
whom come to set all free.

The baby in the manger
would soon be in danger.

But He was in the Father’s sight
on that promised night.

Hello dear Melinda. Christmas is coming quickly, and an amazing poem shared.
"The baby in the manger
would soon be in danger.
But He was in the Father’s sight
on that promised night."
We must remember the birth of Jesus.
