Remember

Remember

A Poem by Raivyn

I gaze up at the tapestry of stars

Diamonds on black velvet that shine like your eyes

I find a million ways to find the wrong things to say

I've lost the only one who made me feel alive

My one true love, gone out of my sight

It wasn't meant to be

Everything just crashed

Like the waves of the ocean at night

Beating against the shore, wishing to become more

Yes, I've done things I regret

What we had was so strong

I can't let go that easily

It's going to hurt forever, I will never forget

The mountains before me could not compare

To what we had, what we shared

They tremble at such strength, an earthquake ripping through my chest

We put our love through one heck of a test

Our love ran deep, never ending

Like the rivers that flow down my cheeks

I was hoping we could work it out

I never thought you'd be so condescending

I'm going to have to go one without you

I still don't understand

Why you couldn't give me another chance

It didn't go quite as planned

I'm moving on, going tough

Though I know it's going to be rough

I'm telling you now, because I need to

Just remember, I will always love you
