Glorious Pumping Heart

Glorious Pumping Heart

A Poem by Nancy A Halbert
"

Philosophy I go by.

"
Hey judger,
You are not
Going to fit me into
Your square stuck box of failure
And slam it shut.
I will embrace being human
Knowing winning and losing
Is the state of being human (not a machine.)
We are meant to evolve face our fallibilities
And say "OK this is mine I can do better"
Thereby we get to higher ground.
Only this is the way we rise
Higher and higher as human beings.
There must be something dead in you
That makes you want to slam a door.
We are the leaves on the tree. The roots are in God, the great mystery of life's origin.
You pretend at perfection when the only perfection is in something higher than us all: our humanity.
For me give me this glorious pumping of blood in my veins and the ability to feel for someone other than myself.

To be real human it's very hard quest. Some people will give up so easily to keep save own existence. I like how you describe human with organic heart and to feel empathy forward to another person. This is what make us really human to give helping hands when someone is in deep decline. Your poem remind us to be human is not enough to be born like human we must also became human. Very deep and meaningful poem.
