~HER PARENT'S LOSS~

This is a poem I wrote for a loved one, who experienced this horrific pain as a Child.

 

“When’s mommy coming home,”

the child asked her dad;

He was an absent parent,

but he was all she had.

 ~

He squeezed her tiny hand,

“She’s never coming back;

She doesn’t love you anymore,

because you’ve been so bad!”

      ~

Her lips began to quiver,

her brown eyes filled with tears;

She looked down at the sidewalk,

 her heart consumed with fear.

 ~

She jerked away from him,

as down the street she ran;

This was too much for any child,

to ever understand.

 ~

In front of her small home,

 she saw a car parked there;

 A strange man tried to pick her up,

her daddy only stared.

 ~

“Now go with this nice man,”

he told his eight year old;

“He's here to take you far away,

to a lovely "All Girls Home.”

~ 

She sat in that car sobbing,

while her daddy went inside;

And as they quickly drove away,

her heart began to die.

 

Author's Note

My Mother_IN_Law, whom I consider to be my real Mother, was taken away from her Parent's when she was eight yrs. old. She never became bitter, but rather, this experience served to make her even more compassionate and loving. This is dedicated to her, and to every Child who knows the pain she endured.

with poetic essence, the passionate words cut straight to the soul, you have a
beaming voice of passion, expressed with a full measure of clarity, the way your

taken for the moment, entrancing visional descriptivness, composed with a tone
of assurance regarding the moving flow, the meaning relfects upon those broken
moments that sadly have to be experienced, i would wish on no one, as well as

that was very sad but I'm so glad that in your mother-in-law's experience she came out of it okay and learned from it. Some children in this situation grow to be very bitter and rebellious. It hurts me to know that there are parents out there that don't love and care for their children the way they should. I became a mother this past November and I couldn't imagine ever hurting my son. He is my world!
