Me Dad….

Fathers Day 20.06.21

I may shed a tear or two…
I cannot hide my sorrow…
Can’t ask for your garden rake…
The one I used to borrow…
I raise a glass to you dad on…
‘Father’s day’ in your honour…
You will always be to me, my…
‘Knight in Shining Armour’…
But for those that didn’t know
as I write trying not to be sad…
He will always be remembered…
by me as my first love…’Me Dad’…

This is a very touching tribute, YB, and brings back memories of my father as well. Some of the most difficult writing a writer can produce are those on the subject of deceased loved ones. It's difficult at times to find just the right words to convey what their loss means to us. And no matter how hard we try we feel it's never enough.
