Alone with regret

Hey this poem is for anyone who has ever fallen so deeply in love with someone they couldn't let go of even when they knew the relationship was toxic

I gave you what you asked for and it wasn't enough,

you wanted more and more,

you became greedy

and when i said "no",

you got mad and yelled at me

you ignored me,

you made me feel incompetent,

you made me feel like i was the bad guy.

I wanted to ignore the obvious sign about you,

that were screaming at me to leave you and forget you

but instead,

I let go of friends who were trying to help and protect me

I let go of unfixable relationships because i couldn't let you go.

Now I'm alone.

Are you happy now?

It's hard to let go of love, even when someone is narcistic. You let go of your friends because he/she made you believe they were the only ones you needed and that they would leave you.

Love is blind. It makes you see it from rose tinted glasses. And once those glasses are removed you get to see their actions more clearly.
