Hoping For Some Silence

Hoping For Some Silence

A Poem by EquivalentExchange

I’m hoping for some silence

Some love, some grace

I’m hoping this might break

The place, I’m in

And the places that I’ve been

I’m just about to run

So hold me down

And hold me tight

I’m shattered in the waves

With everything I gave

I thought that you might care

But never did you care

I’ve tried to fill the noise

With quiet psalms

But sometimes it’s not enough

Sometimes

You’re just not enough

I need some kind of quiet space

Where I can find a place to be

I need not to win this race

I need to just be me

And I feel that I might break

Please, don’t let me break

I’ve been praying

That all this noise dies out

But you’ve been saying

That you’re filled with doubt

About where I’m going

About where I’ve been

I think I just need

To escape

This place just runs me ‘round in circles

Can you tell me where I’m going?

Can you tell me where I’ve been?

I just keep on blowing up

But I just never learn

That some things won’t change

Until I leave this place

I'm hoping for some silence

Still I'm filled with doubt

So I’ll gather my spare change

Then I’m getting out

the scenery may change, but the feeling will remain.
Nice work, however.
