Hurt

Hurt

A Poem by PoetryPenguin

Hurt--
It doesn't disappear with the weather's despair,
nor does it get swept and taken by the cold winds.

The rain doesn't drench it,
and have it dissolve like wet paper--
and the sun surely won't melt it with it's rays.

You can keep it underground,
but if you can't bury a past
then this surely is no different.

Everything returns to the surface,
whether it is weathered bones
or the cries of an empty heart.

This is short and nice, expressing a deeper truth about hurt.
'You can keep it underground,
but if you can't bury a past,
then this surely is no different.'

Sometimes we must learn to confront the root-cause of a problem that led to the hurt.
Or sometimes we simply have to move on positively forward, whilst accepting all past experience and hurt as valuable life lessons.

WELL DONE!

Hurt that could be healed is much easier to forget. But hurt that is not manifested in wounds or bruises stays forever. God forbid that I should be hurt this way. Relatable poem.

thank you very much :)
Yes. I do have thoughts thank you...

Oh you want me to share them ;))
joking...
Well I liked the brevity - that is a skill in itself and I liked the various left of field analogies - very creatively done indeed.

i like it. I agree that while a lot of times we tend to talk about how the rain or sunshine cures things- they don't. good job!
