Earth, and her elemental companions

Earth, and her elemental companions

A Poem by Jennifer Pennington

Everlastingly gorgeous, she
Astounds me with her
Resilience in
Taking on the
Heaviness that we all bring upon her

Above her, and through her
Is her companion, whispering
Reassurance ever so tenderly

Fueling her passion
Is the spark that if not tamed can
Ruin everything with its
Endless flame

While at the end of the day
All she needs is
To cool down. She seeks the
Ebb and flow of a
Refreshing body to ready her for tomorrow

i really like this poem. i love how you connect the elementals to each other so nicely without even stating the element directly but through description.

I like this and how it shows the connection between one element and the other three.
Nicely done.

I like what you did with the elements lining the side. Nicely done.

Very nice. I love the first stanza. However, I'm not too fond of very "broken up" poems like this. I prefer ones that have more complete thoughts in each line. But I think its good either way. It has a very "natural" feel to it. Nice work.
