The Creation of the Centaur

this is my mythologic story of how the Centaur came to be. Enjoy!

 

The Creation of the Centaur

A long time ago, A man wanted to visit his brother but he lived in a city very

far away. If he tried to walk there it would take him many weeks to get there. So he

had to solve his dilemma somehow.

One day the man saw a horse trotting by. He

kindly asked the horse, "May I ride upon your back to take me on the long journey

to visit my brother since I will tire easily and since you are much swifter?" The

horse replied to the man, "No you may not for I do not want to take such a journey

and if I did I would not want to carry the extra burden of weight that would be

you." The man felt insulted and then yelled, "But you must! I need to get there and

on your swift legs so tommorow you will allow me to ride upon your back." Then

before the horse could object to the man's remark, The man stormed off determined

that he will ride upon the horse.

When the next day arrived the horse saw man

coming with his pack. The horse began to say no but then the man said, "your

purpose is to allow me to use your legs!" Then the man forced himself upon the

horse and slaped him to start running. The horse straining under the weight of the

man and his belongings began to whimper. The man exclamied, "Stop your whining

and go fast because I wont get there in time without the speed of your legs!" The

horse then called to the creater in anguish telling the creator, "The man upon my

back is there against my will. I want him to leave me be but he says he needs to get

to places faster and will need my legs to do so." The creator told the horse he would

tell man of your pleas.

When the creater told the man this the man replied, "Leave

me be! I need to ride him because of his powerful legs so go and let me get to where

I want!" The creater angry with man told him, "You shouldn't force others against

their will to help you with your burdens!" The man replied to the creator saying, "I

will do as I please and there is nothing you can do about that so go!" The creator fed

up with the man then said, "Perhaps When I created you I created you wrong. For

you seem very unhappy with the form I have given to you. So as punishment I will

give you exactly what you want. But be warned you will regret it." Man not fully

understanding replied, "Good finnaly you understand what I need! I need to get to

my brother using horse's magnificent legs! But I'm not sure how this is a

punishment! you must not know what your talking about!" The creator told him, "I

know exactly what i'm talking about. I'm afraid your the one who doesn't know."

                                After three days of the man riding the horse he took a break for food and tied the

horse to a tree. The horse whimpered, "Please let me go now you have drained all

the energy out of me and I can hardly walk now." The man replied, "Oh well Your

going to deal with it like it or not because I need to get there on your legs." The

horse then called the creator again and the creator told the horse that he was going

to grant man his wish. The horse shocked replied, "He wants to visit his brother on

my legs!" The creator then told the horse, "Just watch and see him get his wish."

                                 So the horse looked on as the man started walking towards him an evil grin on his

face. The horse frightened looked at the man when all of a sudden the man grabbed

his stomach and screamed in agony. The horse looked on puzzled. Then the man's

lower body started morphing into that of a horse's. When it was finished the man

was human from the head to the waist but, a horse from the waist down. Shocked

he started galloping around scared at the state he was in. He yelled out to the

creator exclaming, "What is this??!! why am I half horse and half man!!! I can't

ride horse like this!!" The creator replied no but now you can take yourself there

instead of burdening horse. Plus now you are the first of your rude species which

I shall call you a centaur." The man now centaur repied, "A Centaur??!! but why

did you have to do this to me!!" The creator then bellowed you know why! now do

as you want on your fresh new horse legs!"

The creator then freed horse and he

galloped away. While the centaur sat there and began to cry. Unhappy even more

with his new state he isolated himself from all men so no one ever would see him or

know of the curse that befell him.
