Unbidden Joy-Bringer

Unbidden Joy-Bringer

A Poem by Prophecy
"

Princess, do you know you are the opium for my soul?

"

I who sing these lines today

Will sing to you of watery forms

Of ideals so sweet the mystics would cry

Romance in her realm of starry lavender

I tomorrow will be the errant labyrinth

Of this dreaming, dreaming of you

I want to drink your crystal-pure oblivion

And dance in your moral abyss of action

I who sing these lines today

Promise to entertain you in my cozy strife

To be forever but never to have been

As my spirit swims towards your spirit

Is a vanity of shared memory in succession sweet

Where we built a world, castles in the sky

Good mirrors in the night, to celebrate

Our suns of sorrow, placid gardens of synthesis

Where we learned the fine art of remembering

What it felt like again to love, this life so brief

I who sing these lines today

Only know the dark majesty of your mystery

Will sing to you of fiery images divine

Of ideals of our crowded nobility

Romance in her platonic dignified form

You who today are my princess, tomorrow my Queen

I will be happy now, as strangers with our sweet telegrams.
