In the Ashes of Something

In the Ashes of Something

A Poem by Dhara_Ditzy Kat
"

Hypothetical. Written to unnerve another cat. Revive the pain.

"

 in the ashes of something

i still linger, i rescind

beyond burning, beyond pain

pulverized, crushed

scattered in your thoughts

smeared upon the forehead

of our sad, still born love

waiting for a puff of crematory wind

to wipe my greyish hue

from the brilliance of your horizon

from the vacuousness of

what was, yet never could be

to a place of forged silences

devoid of all worldly passion

that will leave us forever

burning and yearning

for an impossible, untenable

 kind of resurrection

in the ashes of your regrets

i still linger, i rescind

Waiting for a puff of crematory wind...wow. that is a really great effing line. and the finishing line is really perfect, actually the last two words really hold weight. This is literally a no s**t, I don't give a crap piece well planted without the need for growth. Loved it!!!

All that I could think of while reading this was the beauty of the phoenix that would soon emerge from the ashes left behind.

Ah! Your words are a balm of joy in an everlasting twilight. Thank you.
Regret and pain here which linger on a romance that couldn't flourish. Nicely conveyed Dhara. Cremated ashes, have ensured that.

Wow this is so appealing to me. It was graceful but yet so stormy. Like watching lightning! Dangerous but a beauty to watch. That's what your poetry is like to me. A beautiful thunderstorm. You rain down your lyrics with grace and strike ferociously with lightning. And you make your point across with loud thunder.
:D I love this! You are the most talented cat I've ever met

Ashes, burning, cremation... this is a brisk and paradoxically energetic self-immolation, with a pall of sadness hanging over the flickering flames. A shame to think of rescinding the feelings that were longed for but never were... better to scatter them on the river of life and let them float with the flow.

I was moved by the pain of this, as though the poet fears that love is impossible and prefers to feed its embryo into the incinerator before it gets a hold.

Or maybe it's just a romantic mind playing with the macabre gothicism of grayeyards and murky gardens of remembrance..

Or, after all, it expresses the sorrow of a heart that has played and lost, whose crushed feelings linger like smoldering ashes...

I think I'm drowning..
