The Spark That Lit The Fire

The Spark That Lit The Fire

A Poem by Quasi-Motorolla
"

A poem about the small things that lead to love even if it isn't true love and also the memories of past lovers and how they scar us forever.

"

So small the spark that starts the fire

Friction between the splintered glass

Phosphorus in frenzy

The ignition of this subtle match

Gives birth to the flower, the blooming flame

In this our darkest hour, the fire consumes the frame

We feed this glowing garden

memories of lovers past

Pleeing for a pardon

while photos and letters turn to ash

Rise, oh rise this smoke to the sky

While naked ‘neath the moon we lie

Flames, licking our feet, tickling heat

With endings and beginnings our hearts replete

We draw our own constellations into the stars

Then with smoldering stick replicate the marks

Branded and bound in loss

Celestial ordinates embossed

On blistering skin, the burning within

We unravel the thread and shed our chagrin
