ROSES, VIOLETS AND OTHER CLICHÉ

ROSES, VIOLETS AND OTHER CLICHÉ

A Poem by Moyo Esther
"

But what is us, what is the world Without love…roses, violets and those clichés.

"

Roses, violets and other clichés

Lights, tables and romantic dishes

Romeo, Juliet and Darcy’s pride

Snow white and even the seven dwarfs

Red, blue, colors and love

Me, you and everything us

Men, chivalry and opening doors

Ladies, smiles and waiting for more

Roses, violence and spilling blood

Broken fingers and angry boys

A little slap, a little tap

A solemn march past down the morgue

Roses, lovers and candlelight

Dancing, laughing and kisses tonight

A love at first sight; a bond so tight

X’s and O’s until we fight

Roses, DM’s, date and tango

Pizza, drinks and a golden lambo

Cars for legs, Money for sex

A story for twitter and the rest

Roses, sadness and broken hearts

Cheating, nagging and dangerous lies

A different name, a foreign scent

Another stranger in your bed

Roses, pain and deadly wishes

Lingering feelings and exes’ leeches

A story to tell, a cycle of Hell

Love is useless, ring the bell

Roses and Red wines

Pickup and dead lines

“I can’t sleep until you’re mine’

We know…you know…it is all a lie

The tales have said it

The stories have made it

Love is never worth it

Let’s gather and dump it

But what is us, what is the world

Without love…roses, violets and those clichés.

Written words are my favourite, they say so much than spoken words, much deeper and with much more meaning. I am simple girl with a pen always in her hands to write about her day or others. more..
