I Wonder if She Remembers.

I Wonder if She Remembers.

A Story by Rick Slark

As the cathedral bells tolled eight, I wondered if she remembers.

I wonder if she remembers how the moonlight danced on the lake or the sound of crisp autumn leaves crunched beneath our feet.

I wonder if she remembers the smell of distant campfires drifting through the pines.

I wonder if she remembers the taste of our lips when we first kissed or the warmth of our bodies as we embraced.

I wonder if she remembered the heartache, of saying good bye.

After all these years; I wonder if she remembers!”
