The Frolicking dream

Dreams often has a way of slipping by one's fingers very quickly...And often we regret it. Do you have an unfulfilled dream...that you regret?

Joyful dreams, ever so frolicking dreams,

Why won't you ever stay?

Day after day, year after year

I honestly say.

The sand man ought to know by now,

That merry jingles play.

Plays within all of us, 

the ones who earnestly prays.

God! oh god! should have heard by now,

the silent cry of theirs.

God! oh god! should have seen by now,

the dying soul of theirs.

Joyful dreams, ever so frolicking dreams

Why won't you ever stay?

Very awesome read. I like how your writing flows together, to make me visualize everything that's going on. Many stories on here do that, and that's why most of the stories I read on here are good because you all are very talented and gifted, I visualized everything as I was reading it. Great writing. i have dreams that did not stay...but not too many regrets....there are "what if's" but all the fulfilled and unfulfilled dreams have led me to where i am right now...and i am okay with that.

really like how you effortlessly weave words and rhyme...and i am not a big rhyme fan.

We can all relate to dreams and it is sad when some dreams don't last. Sometimes you wish to close your eyes and go back to sleep. Our world of dreams is so beautiful.

i love the way you repeat the first line at the end - that is a very effective way of opening and closing the poem, leaving the reader with plenty of closure. dreams are a very clever thing to write about because everyone can relate to them, you have a real talent for words, nice job

Dreams. This work of yours can be related to easily. Dreams never stay. A dream can be realized with endeavour and diligence.
And, one cannot linger in dreamland forever- though all wish to. Very nice work. Keep writing.

I've always had very vivid dreams & when I was younger, I would wake up from such a dream & soooo wish I could go back to sleep to keep on dreaming that dream. I never thought to write about such a feeling. This poem shows such imagination & it's so interesting. It could apply to sleep-dreams or just our life dreams, too. Good job. Here's one little correction -- last line, second stanza: "ones pray" (noun & verb don't go together). Thanks for sharing.
