Realization of a loveless fraud

Your mystic eyes, hiding your lies 

With such beauty to stupefy,

Ensnared my heart right from the start -

With all your requests I'd comply. 

I fell for every fraudulence -

Deceiving love and feelings too -

For you preyed on my Ignorance 

And my clear attraction to you.

I yearned so much, a woman's touch,

To be laid on body and heart,

And there was you, a dream came true, 

A goddess for my counterpart.  

I was so relieved I ignored 

All the signs things weren't as they seemed...

Too late I saw you were way flawed 

And not the beauty I had deemed.

It is a shame isn't it? It's a shame that the heart can be fooled so easily. To hold the dream in your hand to find that like sand in an hour glass it slips away.

Yes it is, but it's always that which is pure that is most easily deceived and tainted. The heart wishes to leap at every chance of love while the mind is cautious, asking those questions that need answers. That battle between heart and mind is one so often overlooked and yet it can play pivotal roles in our lives.
