FORGIVING TREE

FORGIVING TREE

A Poem by RW Erskine

On a hill side
far far away
on the upward downside
of a remembered
pathway to the forgiving tree
I stared
at this side of heaven
How beautiful
this truly is
In each one of us
was put
a piece of heaven
To share
with everyone
As the tree
stood tall and strong
with ageless beauty
Wrapped in the mysteries
of time
I layed my unwanted
load beneath
its branches.

I love pieces on trees. Always have. They're such an intricate part of our landscapes and our lives. I remember the stoic oaks that lined the street where I grew up as a child. Beautiful writing always conjures up roots within ourselves. Much enjoyed this!

I really love this. The title drew me in & I fell in love with the originality you used thru-out, describing vivid details in relatable terms, but unlike anyone else typically addresses such ideas! I love the way you celebrate the tree (I love trees) as a giver of strength & peace (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

You are welcome.
if only a tree can be compared to a person who can easily forgive the hurt the other person inflicted and learn to forget in the process wouldn't this be a better place to live in?
