For teaching me what you did

For raising such a kid

Very poignant. This touches the heart. I think you did this really well in writing it from the point of view of a child. Nobody wants to see a child's pain in this way and you made it sound like it is, a child's innocent thoughts. Kids are the victims they don't understand.

Thank you for your kind thoughts on my poem. I have always felt as though in the words of a child that it would make a reader feel more. Though I have seen some very well written items in an adults view.
Kids are often the victims of many things they do not understand things the way an adult does and for some reason as adults we tend to forget how harmful little things can be like not showing up to a concert or helping them with their homework or playing with them. They need this in order to grow in a healthy way.
I am opposed to the last comment though.. There are mothers that are just as bad as fathers and there are fathers that are just a good as mothers.
I am glad that this was able to make you feel though. I love it when I am able to provide an emotion connection for readers with my work.

Yes, when I said thank goodness for mothers I was thinking of this childs mother. I agree with you, there are good parents and bad parents regardless of gender.

A heart breaking plea from child to father, who needs that guy in her life and is left, like so many kids, to feel that it is somehow their fault that it's all gone wrong and he isn't there any more, or isn't there when he is meant to be, supporting and encouraging a loving child. Beautifully captured words.

Thank you it was difficult to write. I felt the best way to go about it was in a childs voice. I am thinking of trying to write one in my fathers voice but I am unsure as to how it is going to turn out.

I wanted to keep it simple Thank you for reviewing another one of my pieces. I guess the poem did just what I wanted it to do. Convey either message to any reader who comes across it. The message can be looked at the way you mention or it can me seen as painful as a way of saying daddy is never there.
