Sat in a corner

Sat in a corner

A Poem by Rach Crowe
"

A poem about a homeless young girl who thinks she is nothing but she is someone's everything

"
Sat in a corner, all alone
Nobody cares, she has no home
Collecting pennies in a cold wet street
Who knows what strangers she might meet?
The days are wet, the nights are cold
And meanwhile this girl is 'growing mould'
She will never seek help or talk to them
They all know she's a precious gem
This I know with all my heart
God has loved her from the start
His love will continue 'til she departs

The sentiment is priceless. So many people suffer from homelessness. I’m not an expert, but I would suggest you go deeper without the rhyming, and then see how it feels. Make me know her, like you said she would never seek help ( is it because lips are burned and cracked from the cold, is it because she was taught not to ask for help so she searches for pennies quietly, etc.). The movement in the poem is consistent, I prefer more flow like you have at the end. Just my O.
