Discarded Fate

Discarded Fate

A Poem by RachelleB

Life, after not letting

my love breathe again

trembles without passion.

The smallest of pleasures

ache only to remind

those that cannot be.

Left behind in hollow

fantasies that bind

or drag me far away.

These prospects remain,

up numbered but remote

in more ways than one.

So I’m def alone.

that’s more than okay,

complete with my echo.

Not half with someone

who’s never the truest

half that belongs.

Still, I conjure close the day

when a fine imposter

impales discarded fate.

I thought this was very well composed. The last three stanza really are exceptional. Loved this!

This was by far my favorite stanza within this piece...

So I'm def alone.

that's more than okay,

complete with my echo.
