I'm Thinking...

I'm thinking

About the last time

I was okay.

Before the cancer

The nausea,

The chemo of today.

I'm thinking

Of how one day

I was so sure

Then the next day

I'm screaming and

Hoping for a cure

Because chemo

And radiation may

Not end up working

I could

End up dying and

Remember nothing but hurting

I'm thinking

About my family

If this doesn't work out

And right now

All I can think of

Is wanting to shout...

A few days ago

I was sure

That it couldn't be me

I'd kick this

And live for years

Wild and free

Now I don't know

I'm lost

And I'm broken

And I'm worrying

That too soon

My last words will be spoken...

Just my thoughts on what I'm going through right now. Today's a bad day, one where I'm scared and lost, worried about it all, so I picked up my pen and started writing. I hope y'all enjoy it...

I know that you scared and upset right now and it shows deeply in this poem, but I’m actually really pleased you wrote this. At least you are expressing how you feel rather than bottling things up. I can’t even begin to imagine what you are going through Meg, but I do know that you will have up’s and downs and I hope this is a temporary down for you. I have always adored you fighting spirit and I simply refuse to believe that the world will be robbed of such a lovely person.
