Your Own Halo

Your Own Halo

A Poem by Megan S.

A tribute to MichelleClay on this site.

I used to be

A young girl

Just a couple

Days ago…

I used to be

So naïve

Loving making

Angels in the snow…

I used to like

To run about

Like a fool

Out in the rain…

I used to think

That heartbreak

Was the worst

Kind of pain…

But then the

Doctor told me

I had cancer and

All that changed

It was that that made

My entire world

Simply get

I thought that

I was done for

That nobody would

Even care,

But that’s when

I met a woman

To whom all

My pains I shared…

Her name just happened

To be Michelle,

And to me

She means so much

She holds me up

She makes me laugh

All with a

Single touch…

I swear she

Must be an angel

Sent down

To earth one day

Because God knew

How much we

Needed her…

There’s not much else to say.

I know, Michelle,

You don’t believe

That you’re as special

As I’ve said.

I know that

You probably think

This is all

Inside my head,

But I wrote this poem

Just for you

To show you

What I know

Because even if

You can’t see it

You have wings

And your own halo.

Megan S,

Megan, your words are deep and thoughtful, your statement is passionate and profound.

We all have guardian angels... recognizing them is something to which we have become blind.

You have touched my heart, with the giving of yours.

Great Job... and Michelle - whatever it is you do... keep it up.

Have a great day,

Unbelievably touched . . .Words just cannot express. This has to be the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. Thank you.
