A Heart Left Behind

A Heart Left Behind

A Poem by Petals & Pearls

Our friendship is not a lost one now that you have passed, I can feel
you now in ways never before imagined... I can feel you in the cool
breeze, your smile is the sun, the thickness of night is like your arms
cradling me until I fall asleep. When I hear the cicada's and the
cricket's begin to chirp I remember our long nights in meaningful
conversation... and it's like speaking with you again. Every heart beat
is like a kiss, every thought is like a hug. But oh, how I miss you so
much. Your passing was almost crippling for me in all its tragic
horror... and it was a life ended much to soon. I am overwhelmed by the
pain of knowing that you are really gone, I am still struggling to
believe it. And though your body is lifeless, your soul will forever
walk in mine... I miss you so sometimes, I have been crying myself to
sleep, though I have not been crying for you, for you are in a far more
better place then I... I have been crying for me.
