Rain Lovers

Rain Lovers

A Poem by Rainbowco

Rain … falls

Damp hair curls around my fingers
            Tendrils slide, lively silk snakes
Color of golden wheat in summer
Lit by the sun as the day breaks

Silky … soft

            Thick lashes wear fairy sparkles
            Butterfly wings, close and open
            Revealing eyes as emerald jewels
            Shining promises left unspoken

Drops … sweet

Moist velvety feel of a kiss
            Invites, entices one to drink
Honeyed taste of dew on lips
            Stained sunset’s dusky pink

How … fresh

            The aroma of lilacs beguiling
            Mingle with your body’s scent
Rain, lilacs, and you, a dream
            Fragrance wrapped, I am content

Love… is

Ah, the sweet contrast offered to such bitter poems of how cruel, bitter, and twisted love is. I needed to read this, though it has been here - though I have been here - my path did not cross this poem until the time that I needed to do so! Or perhaps it was just random, eh?

There is a passion here, that is not the passion of some erotic piece - it is the passion of love, simple - like the rain falling - it is.

You really have such a wonderful facility for weaving sensory images through the fabric of your poems. It really makes the poem come alive.

Oh, this is so very beautiful... I love the imagery in this piece, so delicate and subtle, but yet quite intense and alive. You have done a fantastic job of capturing the emotions of falling in love, truly one of the most wonderful parts of being human. I also loved the form of this, it read beautifully...no complaints here, this was great.

Romatically conceptualized- embracing imagery that awakens the senses to experience the zestful
embrace of rain. I really liked the way your brought the details together to exepress the emotions

of falling in love. being in such a state of aliveness- the renewing effects of dreams, and the way
they capture the heart-there is a gleaming attribute to the synopsis as well as the subtle dynamic

quality of the form layout- many choice words that deliver a vision blissful in its own creations.
I really enjoyed the over cut and aspect of rain- soft fresh- love as its give the feeling substance.
Take Care. Mike
