the other side...

the other side...

A Poem by Rain
"

This is a piece you can take alot of ways. :)

"
i wish i was on the other side
that's where all my fortune lies
over there...and away from here
everything is oh so clear
on the other side

you take mary
i'll take sue
i know what she means to you
hand in hand we'll sail along
to that place where all have gone
to the other side

aint' no reason to hang around
been down every street in town
don't need money
don't need fame
hope somebody knows my name
on the other side

oh i could be...what ever i could be
and i... can do...
whatever I wanted... to do
is love true...

come with me
where the grass is green
and the clouds float by
like a summers dream
i've seen all i need to see
let's walk the shores of a distant sea
on the other side
i'll take my chances
leave it all behind
just to find...what i may find
it's always beautiful...over there
got no worries...got no care
on the other side

oh i can be... what ever i can be
and i...can do...
what ever i wanted... to do
is love true...
on the other side

I really liked it, it is indeed so thoughtful and I guess most of us can relate ourselves with it!
This is indeed the truth of life and I'm glad that you wrote something upon this idea of life...
Also, I loved the way you have written it and I'm sure it will make a great song lyric!
Great work, as always :)

Wow, this is so beautiful. I live the rhythm to your words and the softness. I felt like I was drifting through clouds as I read. I know at times, I have felt this way. I like how you approached it. So softly and with beauty.

I could easily see this as a song, I love the flow and mystery within this piece especially the repetition
"Oh I can be, whatever I can be and I can do whatver I wanted to do is love true on the other side."

This left me questioning what is on the other side, I enjoyed the musical influence in this poem.
Kudos

What a tenderly written piece, that flows so beautifully from line to line.
I agree love is true on the "other side"! ~ Jude :-)

I agree that this would make a wonderful song lyric...it's soft and bluesy yet it stands well on its own without music. I see it almost as a love song although it could be taken at its deeper meaning. Its one of those timeless pieces that mirrors the readers emotion as well as telling a specific story. well done.

Rain I know what you mean and I agree. When you watch what those you love go through. You just want to go and ease the pain. Between ours and theirs its enough to drive anyone insane. As always you and sue are in my thoughts and prayers.
