I cannot help...

A poem on one-sided love.

I cannot help the little smile that instinctively embellish the corners of my lips,
whenever your voice reaches my ears.

I cannot help the cherry red blossom that rushes onto the spread of my cheeks,
whenever your eyes catch mine staring at yours.

I cannot help the confusingly buzzing fuzziness that seeps into my head,
whenever your thoughts conquer my mind.

I cannot help the repeatedly fluttering butterflies in the pit of my stomach,
whenever your vibrant laugh echoes through wind.

I cannot help the sweet shuddering shivers that run along the length of my spine,
whenever your tingling skin innocently brushes mine.

But I also cannot help the conscious cowardice hindering the confession of my love,
whenever you unconsciously make me realize-
Your friendship is too valuable to risk it for love!
I love you my friend, but love you more as my friend!
